This is a mixed media collage made for a water media class. The piece is based on the Avatar the Last Airbender (ALTA) francise. In ATLA there are four nations that represent the four elements: fire, water, earth and air. Each nation contains people with the ability to bend a specific element. The outside of the tri-fold is a non-representational approach, focused on each nation's bending abilities. The inside of the tri-fold is a representational approach, focused on the locations within the ALTA world. Below I have included initial sketches and experimentations to show my design process.
